On 7 December 2021 the CNIL (the French Data Protection Authority) has issued 60 Millions sanctions to Google and 40 Millions to Amazon for the violation of e-privacy rules about the usage of cookies on their websites.

Gianclaudio Malgieri has been interviewed and hosted in several online journals to comment about this case and recommend about future steps for a EU e-privacy Regulation, reforming the current e-privacy directive.
